Default NEW OWNER 2005 S2000

This is my first post. My wife and I finally picked up our 05. To make a long story short I originally wanted the s2000 and started researching the car about 9 months ago. My wife did not realy want to get one and there were certain things about the car that she did not like, mostly cosmetic stuff. She liked the corvette 06 which was stretching our pocketbook a little even though we would have received the GMS discount on the Vette. I also liked the Vette but little did we know how many problems there were obtaining one. No one in the NE area would honor the GMS discount which is equal to a little below invoice. Eventually we found a dealer in NE area, put down $1,000 and the allocation problems started to kick in and we were forever waiting for our order to be pulled. In the mean time both the Sales Manager and sales person left for another dealer and the new manager started jerking us around. We finally gave up with that dealership and found out that dealers in the Michigan area were accepting the GMS discount. The (GMS discount is a discount given to GM Employees and their family). We went through the whole ordering process once again and our order was going to be pulled when GM pulled the rug out from us and discontinued the GMS program for the corvette. Totally fed up with GM, never will I ever attempt to buy anything from them, EVER. I am also trying to sell the custom rims I ordered, to bad I jump the gun. Back to the car I originally wanted and I could not be happier. MY wife loves the car and everything about it. I just want to keep driving it. Even though the Vette had more power I feel the Honda has a better feel for the road and is much more refined. It just so happens that I picked the car up on my Birthday Also my 8 and 12 year old love the car. Happy motoring to all.

Watch out for head injury if your 8yr old rides in the passenger seat.

Do the disable airbag mod.

Unless your kid is large....

Hey Snowball, Congrats on the new car!

Sorry to hear about all your problems with GM but as is often the case, there's usually some good that comes out of suffering.

I've never been a fan of General Motors and stories like yours only serve to remind me why!

Drive Safe,
Steve R.

the only corvette GM will NOT accept GMS (family or employee) price on currently is the Corvette Convertible. that dealer probably had a customer that would pay more that GMS and they gave your order away.

oh almost forgot, Congrats on the new ride! SNOWBALL1
