First of all, Silver is the only way to go. Sorry red-heads. This car is even better than I ever expected. It's been sunny, so I've been out with the top down. Now, just 2 days after I got it, the bad weather sets in. What luck Any advice from the experienced s2000 owners?

Make sure you follow the break in fundamental: don't rev over 5500 RPM before 600 miles. BTW, vary your RPM too. Hey, if you drive to Sac town to check out the Kings then drive back to Reno, that would certainly take you out of your break in real quick. Congrats!!!

Welcome! Keep an eye on your oil level Some cars burn thru more then others during break-in.

Try to get a good feel for the shifter and where the gears are, it is a bit tricky when downshifting from 6th to 3rd for passing reasons. Also, watch the tail...it will come out to play.

Welcome Sweetpuss (interesting user name, btw...)

The nice thing about the way the shifter is sprung is that when you slip out of 6th, it will spring over to the middle of neutral, making getting third a straight down movement. This also means that getting sixth requires that you have to push it out and pull it down. You'll see what I mean by trying it...

Congrats!

Wet is not good, but cold is far worse. If these S02's are not up to proper operating temps, they are nasty, slippery things that really require attention. How to avoid this nastiness? Even in the low 50's these tires are difficult...just make sure they are warm warm warm before pushing the car hard.

Double that if it is cold AND wet...and by cold, I mean, low 50s and below.

Enjoy!
