New PPG windshield
I got a stone crack in the front windshiled over the weekend. I gave me a reason to replace my heavily pitted OEM windshield with a PPG. No pits so far!
Cash price was $380 with a new moulding. I ended up using insurance, $100 deductable. I was told by several shops that it was illegal in Colorado for shops to "waive the deductable". Who knows, but nobody was offering it anyway.
I'll keep you informed on how quickly the PPG windshield pits...

I could be wrong, but the place that replaced(rock crack) my OEM windshield said that PPG actually makes Honda's OEM windshields.
All I can say is that it(PPG) seems more pit resistant. Time and highway driving will tell.

The PPG windshield has different markings than the OEM windshield. I was told that the OEM windshield is of chinese origin, but the guy who told me that wasn't exactly a rocket scientist.
I asked about availability of top tint; not available.

I got my windshield replaced with a PPG unit after a rock put a good size chip dead center in the windshield. So far it's working great but I've been very careful to stay away from other cars and especially gravel trucks.
The glass shop I went to, a PPG Prostar place, said that PPG is actually one of 3 suppliers of glass to Honda. The original windshield in my S2000 was of Japanese make. If you look at the print in the lower corner on the driver's side, you'll see "Honda" plus the manufacturer's name under that.

I've replaced my with an OEM Honda windshield. It still has a sticker on it that says "Made in Japan". Don't know if it is a PPG or not, as it isn't marked as such. Only markings are the original Honda ones.
