Unless, like me, you get a bad enough rock chip that your insurance company's coverage kicks in, resulting in a cost to me of $150 Canadian (less than $100 U.S.). Given that I got a fresh, pit-free and distortion-free windshield that seems at least as good as the OEM piece, I felt it was well worth it.

OEM or Non-OEM, it will run you the same cost.
I agree with yu - the NON-OEM glass is less prone to pitting, and it stays clearer much longer, easier to clean, etc. It might be a pound or so heavier, I really don't know, but its definately better than the OEM glass.

The windshield (Honda original equipment) is $554.17 and installation ran me $98. With tax the total was $685.52. Damn glad I had it fully cover by my insurance (my policy waives the deductible for windshield breakage). Due to the pitting nature of the S2000 windshield from the aerodynamics of the car, this is the only kind of policy to have in my opinion. I have Auto Owners.
