this is the only mistake the designers did (IMO), and if I had Francs to spend stupidly, I would have the ugly 3rd stop light removed.
Here is a fast photoshop preview..
Anyone knows if it could be done, and for how much $??

It might be OK in Europe to remove the light, but I believe it is federally mandated in the U.S.

it is too in france, but you'd have to be very unlucky to stumble upon a cop that would notice (they have never seen the car before) and anyway they have more important felonies to deal with (no one respects the speed limits here, and the'yre trying to educate us)

Police might not notice here, either; however, the annual inspection required here probably would catch it. I rather like it with its little semi-spoiler flurry.

I rather like the third light. What I don't like is the overall 'Miata' look to the rear end. I've heard "Is that the new Miata?" and "Cute car!" way too much. I like the SSM proto tail better.

Me too....especially with the spoiler.

(I had to get in a post there, just so I could get to the magic "100" before bbsilver )

I guess that we can all be glad it doesn't look like the ass end of the C5!

Although I'll have to admit that I get used to most designs after awhile.

I used to hate the rear end of the last generation Prelude, but grew to like it over time.

OK, how about this (good money will be spent to get a cool look, right?)...

Replace the unit with clear plastic containing red LEDs/lights. Paint the majority of it silver with little holes where the lights are to let them shine through. Not a perfect solution, but it blends it in and keeps it legal.
