Default new S question

ok, so i picked up my 02 ss s2k about 2 weeks ago!!! everything has been good except for one thing. the steering wheel hangs to the left. the alignment is fine and the car does not pull, its just the wheel. so is this a common problem or should i take it and have it fixed asap?!

THANKS!!

oh yeah, how do i find my build #?

your build number is the last six numbers in your VIN number. the numbers haven't gotten high enough yet to even use five of them, so we only use the last four.

i think you should get your steering wheel fixed right away, unless if doesn't bother you and the dealer is too far away from you.

congratulations on your purchase.

The S2K has an electronic steering system. It sound to me like your Torque Sensor Neutral Steering setting is off (odd on a new "undamaged" car). As for the VIN...it's in 13 places....the easiest is the door jam:

P.S. Do a search for VIN and you can find out what all the numbers mean.....

mingster - its happened before, even with under 20 miles here in Austin. he should get it looked into, or else its just an adjustment the dealer needs to make.

The steering is electric assist. It is still mechanical steering, not fly by wire. If the wheel is off something happened to the car. There is no way it left the factory that way. Take it back to the dealer immediately. By the way, the alignment is probably off.
