Just because Honda may cease production of the S2000 and begin production of an XGA or whatever they call it, does not necessarily make it the successor to the S2000. 
There were decades between the S800 and the S2000, there may well be decades before we see the next S if Honda determines it's not beneficial enough to have a sports car/roadster offering.
