Default New S2K owner

Traded in my 2004 Java Black Pearl STi for her today...2001 white/red S2000. It's in damn near perfect condition, bone stock and well maintained. I can't keep myself out from behind the wheel!!

Don't have too many plans, but I'm sure that'll change once I get looking around at parts. I mainly want a quick, fun daily driver. Think 17" wheels, springs/shock, sways/strut bars, all the normal stuff. Power adder will most likely be a roots-type supercharger.

Alright, I'm out to drive around some more

Nice find and I know you will enjoy your new ride! You might have to wait for the roots blower for a long time. All the available browers for our cars are centrifical type such as Comptech and Vortech.

Congrats! Awesome color choice. I love the GPW with red interior. Enjoy her, and in the event that this is your first rear wheel drive car be sure to take your time getting used to the difference!

Not quite my first RWD car, but I'm sure it's the most unforgiving and snap-spin-happy. Although, coming from AWD it WILL take some getting used to, slowing down for rain instead of speeding up

Ever had one of those monents where it'd be embarrassing if it weren't so damn funny? Well, had one of those today. Had to get some gas in the S2000 and I had absolutely NO clue where the filler door opener was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I was there for about 15 minutes before I found it.... Even had a few people help look for it....

Now that I own an S2000, are there any uncommon problems and maintenance items i should be aware of? It has a timing chain, correct?

haha...that's one of the initiation processes of S2ki.
next one will be finding the secret compartment

i would start with replacing the diff and tranny fluids right away (who knows what the previous owner did...or didn't do).
also check for spring spacers...you just NEVER know.

Secret compartment, eh? Mind giving a clue to the location

It seems to be bone stock (had two previous owners, both ladies). Looks like it was garaged (which kills me because I live in an apartment with no garages ) Spring spacers...first time I've heard of installing springs spacers...where on the spring/strut assy would they be mounted?

Open your center consol compartment (between the seats), then lift the triangular shaped compartment directly above that. Its like treasure hunting, I found a bunch of CD's in mine after I found it, 6 months after I bought the car.
