new s2k owner
hi, i just got a used 00 s2000 with 14kmiles about a month ago and have been surfing through this forum since. I noticed ppl saying like check the TSB or something like that...... what is a TSB?? from my understanding its somekind of a recall??? oh and since i have a 00 i dont think the warranty exists so can anyone tell me if i should get extended warranty for my s2k or it should be fine without it?
is there anything else i should look out for? thanks.

Congrats and welcome! There are TSBs for 2000s, but you need to understand that Honda may not do them unless they're safety related. Some people have gotten them done, but they are not recalls, and Honda is not legally bound to do them. It becomes a goodwill repair.
VERY IMPORTANT!
If you have anything other than stock S-02s tires, you need to get a 245 width for the rears!
This is essential for safe handling. When we had our '00 and '01, I used to go through rears every 10-12,000 miles. My wife would get more from hers, usually 12-15,000. The fronts would normally last twice as long.
Remember, If you buy anything other than stock S-02s, you need to get a 245 tire for the rears! If the car you purchased does not have S-02s, double check the brands (I hate mismatched tires) and sizes.
I'd hate to see your next post talking about how you spun out on the freeway!
Enjoy and be safe.

very true colin, i bought my s2k w/ 30k miles on it's second set of tires, first thing i did was change the tires to 245 from the low quality 225 the previous owner had put on, but not before i had a few scary spins. Not to mention he only had 10psi in one of the rear tires which i found out after driving it about 60 miles on the freeway to get it home. Moral of the story, don't cheap on the tires, even if they are 225 w/ a good deal of tread, just lose um and get the 245s, its just not worth the risk.
