Default New s2k owner, CAIs?

Are they really worth buying for this car, any decent gains (relatively speaking) from it or not really?

Unless it is attached to a supercharger or a turbo, then NO

The cool things about these cars is they perform well out of the box. Save some $ and buy some track time and go have fun with the car.

For 06+ flashpro would by far be the best bang for the buck IMO. I am having trouble not pulling the trigger on one.

They are worth it for the sound. Fujita, AEM etc. K&N if you want your filter higher.

Intake, good exhaust and tp should get you a few hp. Then shed as much weight off of the car as you can, get good tires and like CKit said, learn how to drive it.

Gears might be a good option for you too.

cai ($300) + header ($500) + hfc ($200) + exhaust ($1000) + = +15whp @ $2000

used comptech non-ac ($2000) = +80whp @ $2000 (no other mods required)

There are tons of threads that already cover all this but you need to decide whether you want cheap or performance when it comes to mods on the S. Don't expect anything other than improved sound from a CAI on an S.

As mentioned above, the best mod is track time. Most S owners aren't making the most of the car even in its stock form.

i have always thought that a really good set of tires is worth the money.

an extra $500 goes a long way for performance when you are putting on the best street tire you can buy.
