New web article on S2000
Here's a good new writeup of our beloved car:
http://wp.netscape.com/ex/shak/autos/speci...02DropTop4.html
It's part of a feature about best convertibles for 2002.
Enjoy.

I love my car, but I don't agree with the following statement (especially the use of the word "slams" or phrase "awesome surge") from the article. I think such superlatives might apply to the Viper or Z06 but not my Honda. Besides that the article seems to be about the same as many others I've read since the early articles in Road & Track and Car and Driver.
"Cost considerations aside, none of the Honda's competitors delivers the awesome surge of motive force that slams you in the seat when the tach swings past 6,000 and the VTEC variable valve-timing system begins dialing in more aggressive cam timing and lift."
Any comments?

Shingles,
This is where I am coming from. Cars such as the Boxter S, and BMW M Roadster have the following weight/torque@RPM of 3020/225@4500 and 3070/236@3800 respectively compared to our 2790/153@7500 and so I can't see how the author can say we are "slammed" into our seats relative to anything. I feel a VERY NICE surge of power above 6500 RPM and that's the most I can say. Just think that some of these articles can be misleading.

On more than one occasion, I've had a passenger slam his head against the headrest after the VTEC kicked in.
