Default With new wheels, no need for spare??

I was just thinking that since I have 17" wheels on my s2000 now that there is no point in me carrying the spare cause it will only be good with the 16" wheels, right? If I were to put the spare on my car now, wouldn't it mess up my cars alignment or suspension? Should I just take the spare and the jack out so I can lighten my car up a little?

I don't see why 17" wheels should matter, since I assume that they'll have same overall diameter as the 16" wheels.

When you put the spare on the front wheel, the side that spare is on will sit slightly lower and the car will pull towards that side(you have to counter steer). I don't know about alignment, but you should only use the spare to drive to the nearest tire shop.

No, i don't think it will matter, either way though.....I wouldn't want to go far on a spare. With the size difference, you differential will take care of that on the back, and your fronts aren't connected.

One of my firends up in Ohio had a double blowout after hitting a pothole in his Civic Si (cracked two 17" RacingHart CP035's) and he only had one spare. The Civic Si's spare is 14" to clear the front calipers, and he had to borrow a 13" spare from a Civic EX....so he had 2 17" wheels on the drivers side, a 14" spare on the passenger side front and a 13" spare on the passenger side rear. That thing looked so retarded going down the road!
