Newb here, finally got an S2000
Hello everybody!
My name is Mark, screen name Markk. I've been reading your forums for a couple of weeks while I was searching for a good used S2000. Your posts were a great help to me in my search, thank you all. I'm also a friend of Mingster.
I picked up a MY02 with 11,000 miles on it. Perfect condition, Sebring silver, with black interior. Has an Alpine amp and CD changer, with Infinity speakers, so I have no problem with the stereo except for maybe a lack of bass. Has the 7/100 warranty, additional alarm, and LoJack.
I will be needing tires soon but that's about it. Thanks again for helping me (and not even knowing it).
I love my car!!!

Thanks for the replies, and I understand why you like the S-02's. But I drive 75 miles a day. Isn't there any other tire that will wear longer, yet provide decent handling?

Mark,
Many members switch to either Kuhmos or S-03's. Kuhmos seem to be fairly sticky, may wear a bit better than S-02s but are a bit less expensive. I have found that a good alignment will greatly increase the life span of your rear tires. If you have the car properly aligned and are a bit easy on the gas, I would think you should be able to manage 20k miles on a set of rear tires.
Welcome to the board. Congratulations on your purchase.

hey, that's the exact same car as mine...minus the aftemarket stereo, alarm, and lojack. what did you pay for it??
btw, i understand that not everyone drives their s2000 to it's handling limits, so although most recommend sticking with stock s02's, i think you should get whatever tires suit your driving style and needs.

Markk,
I'm currently shopping around right now and I'm torn between a used MY '02 and '03 or selecting a new '03. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for your used with that low amount of mileage? Thanks for your help. BTW, Carmax and the majority of private sellers are still asking 28 and up for used '02 with low mileage. I'm a point with a local dealer where he's asking $100 under invoice. Thanks, again.
