Default Newbie buying S2000!

Greetings all and thanks for the loads of info I've gotten here as a lurker! Bought my first Honda in January (Accord Hybrid W/NAV Graphite). Love the car and love Honda. Just paid off the Hybrid and managed to get seriously bitten by the S2000 bug after an unplanned test drive. I actually went in to see the HIDs only, due to a retro project I'm doing on the Accord...Anyway...

Am working with three local dealers and best deal so far is $30,200 excluding TTL. Hope to have that below 30K by the weekend! My wife and I both want silver but are having (honestly) a real tough time deciding both between Silverstone and Sebring as well as the black or reb/black interior. Fortunately we have all four combinations readily available here in Phoenix. Certainly don't want to start a color choice flame war but really would like to hear from owners. Did you wish you'd gone "the other way" etc..

Thanks again! I do look forward to many more discussions in the future! Maybe a little less wordy though!

Wow! Over 150 views and only one reply! Not even a "hello" or "welcome to the site!" My question was lame but still.

Anyway...

Just took delivery of a 2005 S2000 in the Silverstone w/black interior. Got it for $29,500. Had some scuff on the bottom of the front end so rather then a fix or replace they agreed to give me the "front underbody spoiler" for cost. That and a lojack (sucker me!) will go on next week. Haven't figured out how to get a gallery going yet so no pics.

VERY happy!

Now, can I get a welcome to the site?!?

Good negotiation job, and welcome to the site. You get a personal gallery if you become an s2ki member. Well worth the $20 investment.

Thanks for the info and I WILL join. So there's some disagreement on which color is faster I see. As long as we all agree that Silver handles better!

Welcome to the site!

Sorry I couldn't help you out with the color question. I originally wanted a white S2000, but I wanted the red interior, not the tan in the newer ones. Yellow was my second choice. After searching for about 6 months and not finding a white, I saw a yellow that struck my eye. The rest is history, I still see a white with red from time to time but I don't regret my decision.

You have a great taste in cars & silver is probably the best color for not showing dirt.

I woulda gone for the 2-tone interior, but if you got it for under $30k, you did well. Are you going to keep stock or mod some?
