you will be happy with 1HP gain? what the hell is the point?
I'm happy with the 6hp gain I got out of mine, especially considering I paid $200 for it brand new.

So I know it's a newbie question, but what do you think of this header?
DC SS HEADER

Before I get Flamed:
Reasons I like it:
CARB LEGAL!!!!!!!! (I live in CALIFORNIA, everything is illegal here)
SS
PRICE$$
Weight (compared to stock)

THINGS MIGHT NOT LIKE
Not to sure on DC Quality (so many different opinions)
Not Much HP Gain (I will be happy if I Get 1HP Gain)

P.S. AP1
Mine is holding up very well. No cracking or other quality control issues and I track my car on a regular basis. Not sure of the weight, but definitely lighter than stock. I made about 6 hp in the mid range on mine, don't remember torque numbers. Nothing on the top end.

My experience with dc sports headers (not on the S though) has been all positive. No issues, usually in the low end of gains, but also the low end of price range and as you mentioned, 100% legal.

yes, but thats around the most you can expect, and it will probably help even more with a new exhaust and tp. Would you have bought it though if you knew it would only make 1whp regardless of exhaust? I don't see the point in buying something that has no benefit whatsoever.

I meant more along the lines of not loosing HP. I'v heard that the DC actually loses HP (which is really hard to believe to be honest) but if its true I would want to know. That's
why I posted that.

( And yes I will be upgrading my exhaust.....lol.....and no not a DC exhaust. I'm going with the ultra high powered E-bay Special !!!!! JDM TIGHT YO !!!!!!. But in all seriousness, I will be getting a good quality exhaust.)

But if I were to gain 6 Hp with the Header ( and not lose any Hp anywhere ) I would be really happy. The main reason I Even considered the DC SS Unit is because it's California ( I repeat CALIFORNIA ) Carb legal. and yes of course the under $400 price tag. The SS Looks. And The Wieght savings.

So when I say I would be happy with a 1Hp gain, I meant more along the lines of not losing any power. But still getting the benefit of looks, wieght savings, and even more power (hopefully) with an upgraded exhaust. All while being CARB legal. That's worth $350 to me. (it would be Worth $350 to me if it were a direct stock replacement but just lighter). expecially because all my other options are $900+ for not much more HP gain. If I were going to spend $900-1500 for a Header, I would just SAVE$ and Boost.

You will probably lose top end HP with a DC header, but voodoo has said from his experience you should make some midrange power, he made 6HP in that range.

From your last post it sounds like you have already talked yourself into buying it. You say you would be happy with a small gain (which you will get in the midrange just not at the top end) and CARB# and the price. You might as well go and buy it, just dont get upset when you dont feel a difference.

Based on your last post I say save up and boost the car. I just dont see you being satisied with the DC header's performance gain. Or most of the gains you will get from an N/A set up VS the $ you wil spend.

Good Luck
