Default Newby needs help with purchase. A little long!

Hey all! First time posting.
I've been wanting a 2000s for a couple years now.
The local Acura dealer has a couple for sale:
A 2000 year model.
60k miles
Little hole in the top. some ripped carpet.
$17k price
Q's,
Price right?
too many miles?
Who should I get to check it out, and what potential problems should I be aware of.

They also have a 2003 with 11K miles for $27000.
I would love to get the newer one, but would also like to not spend the additional $10k to get it.
A little about me, 48 years old, can afford either, don't want to 'work ' on cars anymore. Any suggestions? I like this forum alot. thanks to everybody

I'd get the 03, there were a few improvements over the years, the glass rear window among them. Also 03 was the last year for the 2.0 motor. Hopefully you'll be able to get that down to around $25k. Best of luck with whatever you decide to get.

I would say go with the 03 also. If you can afford it, why hassle with an older higher mileage car that will leak and has ripped carpet? Good luck.

get the 03, but definitely try to knock the price down (or look elsewhere). for $27K you can almost get a leftover or used '04

Get the 2000 it's the original year should be worth more if you keep it for a long time 60000 miles isn't that bad either. If the hole in the top is midway behind the window you may be able to get another for free, I did,but you need to have it installed.Try to get it Honda Certified with a good interest rate and extended warranty.10,000$ buys a lot of carpet !!
I own a 2000 with 62000 miles and it runs great and i drive it hard everyday, don't worry you won't be working on it anyway.Pay for the warranty and have the dealer fix it.

1. too many miles
2. hole and ripped carpet?
3. i'd pay $1K-2K more and get one with 20K-30K miles in better condition.

4. later MY the better, more convenience features and addressed some issues on earlier models. performance wise, all MY about the same.
i think you can group MY by

00 - 01,
02 - 03,
04 - 05, and look for the best one for the money.

The price of a brand new 2005 is not that more more than what you quoted for the 03. You could probably find a new 04 for something between the two.

Good Luck

Hey all !
Thanks for all the suggestions so far.
I 've been quoted $33500 for new '05.
Where can I get one for about $30k?
Even more interesting to me is an unsold 2004 model.
Where can I find one.
Thanks for all the help.
