Default News on JDM keys

As many of you know, JDM keys have been available through a number of group buys, but to switch the immobilzer from the stock US key to the JDM key is a bit of work.

Our source in Japan tells us that there are actually two JDM keys available, a cheaper version with a plastic head that comes stock with the car and the more expensive version that has been available through the group buys

We're looking into the possibility of making both versions of the JDM keys available on a regular basis with the hole for the immobilizer already machined into the key head. Thus, half of the work to do the conversion will already have been done.

We don't know cost yet or even whether we'll end up doing this. But we're going to at least try.

This sounds very promising. Count me in when you are able to execute it.

Might want to check on this. Isn't that basically what we have? Key with a plastic head? It was my understanding all along that the JDM keys that we have seen in the past were not OEM keys but blanks that they sell in aftermarket stores like AutoBacs.
