NFR Salvage Advice
Hi Everyone, the S2000 has been my dream car ever since i laid eyes on the SSM prototype as a teenager. I've been looking for a clean example in NFR and this one has caught my eye. Obviously, it's a salvage title and there are a few red flags, but it's been on the road and well taken care of since 2016. From the initial damage pictures it looks like the front end was badly damaged, but the repair (in the pictures at least) looks solid and it's being sold by a Honda Dealer. If i'm not concerned about resale, and selling price aside, should I consider it? Would appreciate a gut check on this!
Lol no, this is absolutely not worth the $24K that you can "get them down to".
The damage it sustained isn't as concerning as those awful headlights they put on it. No idea where else they cheaped out.
They also took the V3 wheels off of it. Either they were damaged or someone just wanted to pillage them.
In the USA, you can buy a clean title AP2 in the realm of $24K USD. I don't know what the Quebec market for clean S2000's is like, however. If its not difficult, you may want to consider importing a US model.
Look in the S2ki marketplace. There are better deals on better cars.
My advice is to buy one as close to stock as possible, if you're a first timer. A clean, stock car with higher miles is the best entry point.

After looking at some CARFax information I feel better. Not $24,000 better -- but closer. Documentation appears to show normal service since the rebuild. Car has been Honda dealer serviced since the rebuild. Still has some strange parts.
Car came out of North Carolina then Georgia and last to Quebec.
The wreck was in 2015, 8.5 years ago, so things like the wheels and headlights could have been replaced at that time.
06/04/2015 43,288 km
07/16/2015 Georgia Salvage tile issued.
0513/2016 Quebec Rebuilt title issued. New owner.
05/20/2022 80,507 km Serviced -- so that's almost 40,000 km since the chassis repairs (over half the car's life)
This car is gonna sell. All depends to whom and at what price.
