Default Night Lights

I'm thinkin about getting lights on the bottom of my car (you know, the type from the FF movies). How hard is it to do though, I don't trust the shop so I plan to do it myself. I just a need a basic hard or not hard answer. Thanks!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Ricer Alert! Weee Oooo Weee Oooo!

Don't do that to the S. It degrades it down to civic territory. It is your car and you can do whatever you think looks good, but please reconsider. Lights are like the gateway drug for ricers. It starts there and before you know it you have a playstation, 4 tv's, LED tailpipe, and an RPM guage the size of your head on the dash. Friends don't let friends rice and drive.

Be kind to her fellas...she means well.

How hard is it?

That depends. Can you install your own CD player, amp, and subs? If so, you can probably install your own undercar lighting.

Street glow ;p

Honestly... I don't mind the look... It gets alot of attention from people good and bad.

You can do whatever you want to your car as long as you are happy about it. Don't let other people's opinions effect what you do.

Installation is pretty simple. Scale of 1-10 it's about a 3.

The kits come with:
1. Transformer that hooks up to the battery
2. Bulbs
3. Protective covers
4. Hardware
5. Wiring/connectors
6. Toggle switch

Don't ask how I know..........

I went through that faze.....but it was 12 years ago......

It is illegal to drive with the lights on. It used to be legal in some states including Hawaii to have any color other than BLUE, RED, YELLOW, GREEN. Now it's illegal to have any lights on the undercarriage or on the wheels or windshield nozzles.

Post pics if you get em.....

Seriously, I think it looks OK ONLY and I mean ONLY if you can't see the tubes. If you can see the tubes, it looks like crap! I don't think I would ever do this mod to my car, but done well, I think it has a pretty cool effect.

I consider myself to be an expert on this topic. I've installed two UB kits on two s2ks including ICELED and one of those cheapo 7-color kits on ebay.

Here is what I think

1) The install is definately challenging. There is no good place for the front tube, and the rear tube will have to go inside the rear bumper; its the only mounting place. The side tubes are easy and fit beautifully.

2) To do the front tube you'll have to cut a sliver out of the plastic under engine guard. If you do it right and secure the tube correctly the tube will take the place of the cut out plastic piece, be up in the engine bay and invisible. Otherwise you're mounting it under the plastic guard and thats real ghetto.

3) The wiring might be tricky - use the aux blade on the fuse box on the drivers side - there are three blades there. One is wired to ignition, one parking lamps, and the third is hot all the time. With a spade it'll be an electrical outlet in your car for you.

4) When you run the wires zip tie zip tie zip tie em up, and wrap them in some plastic tubing like that in your car.

If you need any more help PM me. My ICELED kit is invisible - I mean you would never know it was there AT all unless you were under the car itself.

Good Luck with what you decide...just don't put let the tubes be visible.
