Well, I run about 80% nitrogen in my tires all the time -- always have. Never caused me any problems, and it's always been free. HPH

I wish the tires on my S2K had time to deteriorate prior to running out of tread!

...and it only took about ten responses for this to get figured out. Ka-ching. You get the prize.

I kind of liked the winter one, too. HPH

I wonder what Michael Knight used in Kit's tires when he hit the turbo boost button?

I want some of that.

If nitrogen in the tires diffuses out of the tires more slowely than other gasses, wouldn't the concentration of nitrogen in the tires increase gradually over time. You start with air that's 79% nitrogen and keep more nitrogen in the tires than the other gasses. Every time you add air, you add 79% nitrogen to the remaining air that gradually increases in the concentration of nitrogen with each re-fill. If nitrogen in tires really stays put longer than other gasses in air, then I figure that my S2K tires already act as nitrogen concentrators and that the concentration should automatically approach, but never quite reach 100% nitrogen. Either this theory of slower diffusion of nitrogen out of tires is just hot air, or those Japanese engineers designed our tires to concentrate nitrogen automatically.
