Default Nitrous Systems

i have been trying to get the search to work for a good 5 minutes, but it has been to no avail.

i was just wondering if anyone could point me to a thread or share their experience with nitrous. it seems like a much more simple way to get hp, and only when you really want it. installation seems a lot more simple and less intrusive than FI, and it also seems more cost effective. and a lot less cars run nitrous than FI, so i think i'd like to try it.

from what i've been reading on other sites, it seems like it's reliable if you use it correctly and buy a reputable kit, and won't put as much strain on your engine as FI because you only use it when you really want to.

i'd appreciate if you guys could shed some more light on this, or point me to a useful thread, or someone who has experience with nitrous in the S2000.

thanks

i'm looking at this one: http://hopupracing.com/nieximstonee.html

I ran nitrous on my type R, but if ur gonna use it on the S, i recommend u get a window switch! it will cut nitrous off at 9k, the redline is so close to the limiter, and u dont wanna bounce it off the limiter with nitrous. And as long as ur clutch can hold it, than its all good.

an s2ki member customcamry (or something similar) was running nos for a while and eventually bought an engine, but i don't know if it was wear on the engine or just too much nos that day that did it in.

I agree though, if nos is done properly it should be as/more reliable as FI packages. A dry NOS (just blowing air into your intake) kit is not as 'done properly' though because more stress goes on the first piston that it hits. and thats the cheapest option, so thats probably what most people toast engines with.

direct port, wet shot, tuned for it with vafc, and window switch is the only way you should go.
