OK, I think this forum needs a new rule: No posting about the future of the S2k and/or when it may be ending! Maybe its just me, but its been really bad lately; seems there is another thread like this every day!

There might be a last production year for the current model sometime soon, but there is no way in hell honda is going to stop making a small 2 door convertible when the market is about to really heat up. The new Miata is about to land and GM is throwing these two rascal's into the mix:

They weigh about the same as the s2k. There will be supercharged versions of both with ~260 HP.

Has Honda ever gone "here GM, have our market share"? No.

 

Just a suggestion:

Should there be a place in s2ki called "Rumors" so people can search and post on topics like this and/or future S2000 changes for instance without feeling the wrath of those who are tired of seeing it? Then, when a rumor is ever verified to be true, it can be moved into the S2000 Talk forum.

 

 

 

Yes it is true and you must keep this a secret. Honda is building a 720 HP S6000 next year and rumors are that it is going to sell for under $40K. If you are interested, I can pull some strings and put you in direct contact with their director of product development. You could be the first owner of this exclusive automobile.

I am almost positive 06 will be the last year because of 2 reasons.

1. Honda will not spend the money they spent to make the changes they made for a 2 year period only.

2. They will have a s2000 successor in 2007. They are also going to have a acura version of it.
