I'm curious to know if any of you have run your car or have heard an S2000 without a muffler? The reason I ask is because I'm considering a few exaust options to get a little more exhaust sound out of my S2000, but I don't want it to be too obnoxious. I'm thinking of something along the lines of an electrically controled exhaust cutout that way if I want some noise I can have it at the push of a button and if I'm on a long trip I can close it and have a fairly quiet drive. So if any of you guys or gals have heard a S2000 without a muffler, please let me know how it sounds. Thanks!

It will be noisy as heck.

Decibel rating will exceed 90.

TFOTA had a quick sound/video clip of his car without the exhaust, I wonder if anyone has it? Tom?

I still have it. I'll e-mail it to Silver S2k Guy (1.3MB MPEG).

Well, that didn't work. His e-mail kicked it back because of the attachment.

I had "cut-outs" on a big block V8 once and they were great fun! They were not electrically operated, had to use a wrench and open flanges.

I too have considered something similar for the S. Perhaps a Y off the exhaust behind the catalyst with a flanged cover or electrically operated slide valve???

Let's make some noise at 9k!
