No-Name Gas?
I have had very good luck with Marathon gasoline. I don't know if it's available everywhere, but it's available here in the Mid West. Marathon also provides the gasoline for Speedway and Pilot gas stations. I have had better luck with Marathon than any of the major brands over the last 30 years.
I filled up with some Shell recently and it sounded like I had a bad pre-ignition problem with the Shell every time I went into VTEC range. Don't know if this had anything to do with the ECU settings or not, but wasn't about to find out, since it works great with the normal gas.

Chevron exclusively, unless I cannot find one. then it's only one of the major name brands. I've done some cursory research, and it seems like Chevron's additives are some of the best, and that many other brands buy Chevron's Techroline and rebrand it as their own.
i usually buy it as cheap as i can get it, though mainly just at recognizeable stations.... and if i ever end up at one of those stations where when u pull the pump handle all the way in and the gas comes out S L O W i wont return (takes forever to fill the tank). What's up with that?

I've used Chevron exclusively on all my cars - and would hesitate to put anything else in. If I am on a road trip and can't find a Chevron, I would put 76, Shell, or Mobil in, but that's a rare occurrence.
I changed my fuel filter on my Mercedes C230K (1999) at 70k miles, and the fuel that came out looked excellent.
You can choose to believe the hype or not, but I wouldn't stress over a few cents difference when it comes to a high-performance machine.

Doesnt those no name brand gas stations buy excess gasoline from Chevron, Mobil, Arco, Etc. Etc.? Thats why when gas is plentiful no name brand is cheaper and when gas is scarce they cost alot more then Brand name?
