So I pull into work parking lot today and see a black S2000. I was surprised to see it because I've never seen a S2000 at that lot before. So I send a building wide email to ask who's it is and to join s2ki.com... No response. Actually one response, goes something like this ... "Just a notice that someone could report this to security for email abuse." I thought, whatever!

So then I talk to my co-workers on the same team as I about how I saw a S2000. No one knew what it was! I could not believe it. So I said, it's a Honda sports car. And then started to give the specs to who ever was interested...

Anyone else experienced this before?

As it turns out, I did find out who's it was. It was someone who works for a different company in the same building. (this building is leased by several companies). So naturally, my email didn't reach that person.

 

Of course no one know what it is. I have the dealer lit on my desk. People see it and flip through it, then ask me if Honda just started making the car.

 

When I got my car, my insurance rep never heard of it, the guy at the Registry never heard of it, only 1 person I worked with knew what the car was, and he was jealous.

 

someone ask me is it a new Del-Sol?...doesn't bother me one bit

 

Know what it is? So far this is what I've gotten:

Is that a Honda Miata?
Is that the new BMW?
That's a Honda?
Honda makes a sports car?
Did you import that?
It looks like a Viper...

I don't know why, but I can't stand people who don't care about cars.

 

I hear you... It really burns my biscuits when someone with a lot of money doesn't know or care about cars.

"nice nice nice nice nice nice.... nice"

 

One of the women that I work with thought it was a Corvette. She was disappointed to learn it was a Honda.

 

Same here. It's depressing how few of my coworkers know ANYTHING about cars - much less the S.
