but to behonest i wasnt realy interested as i jst wanted the car so much, i had the car inspected and everyting and all seemed ok, so i dont no if or when the last service was done, could any 1 advise on a 45k service ie what to i get for my money like does the timing belt get changed at a certain mileage do the spark plugs and leads get changed etc or is it just a oil and filter change, ohh and a rough price would be good to so i no what to expect

There is no timing belt, and the chain needs no servicing. There is a chain tensioner which occasionally wears out and could be audible as ticking/clicking under the hood.
My suggestion is change *all* the fluids on the car (see the oil journals thread in the under-the-hood forum), and change the plugs too.
As a new owner, have a look through the Introductions forum FAQ thread as well as the FAQ thread here in S2000 talk. Good luck.

Hmm... You can get replacement plugs at the dealer. I wouldn't do a service at a dealer, but that's really a better question for your local community. Also, you can use the site search to look for plugs... I have a set of Iridiums in my S.
Strongly recommend you try the oil change at least by yourself. The UK folks are a tight community, and I'll bet they'll heelp you learn more about DIY stuff... I just like to do that kind of thing.

Maybe I'm wrong but can't any Honda dealer pull up warranty history by vin?
I thought they could.
Do you know about the secret compartment? The button to open it is inside the console. Your papers may be in there.
Have fun with your S. Drive safe in the rain.

the easiy ones i could prob do myself lol the oil
some things to get you started:
-some s2k's uses oil, look often to get a handle on its rate of use.
-dont drive with worn rear tires.
-look around for that owner's manual, specifically the radio code, eventually you will disconnect the battery, find the radio not working. you will then need the code, it usually is written by the previous owner in the owner's manual. secret compartment, trunk etc.
-wash the cloth top, completely dry and apply 303 conditioner. also consider leather conditioner 4the seats
-change the air filter, use a K/N reusable filter
fluids you should consider changing:
oil, transmission oil, differential oil
change the plugs, consider the ones listed in the service manual, know the torque requirements (about 8ft-lb but there was some discussion on this)
brake fluid... at this point or in another 10K miles change the brake lines to stainless, goto a better pad material, new hi grade fluid. get some speed bleeders.
coolant, maybe
change the oil
get a pan that fits under the car, the car is low even in its oem setting. determine the type of oil you are going to use. again the recommendation in the service manual is functional. buy a better than average filter. determine where the front side jack points are. i jack the car up on a side loosen the drain plug and put the car back down for a bit to drain, lift it backup and clean the area and refasten the plug to torque spec. replace the filter too, get a filter wrench that works 4the car.
thanks for all the info jah! what oil do you use 10w30w? bearing in mind i am not mechanicaly minded haha and have done a oil change on my ford and airfilter change but as for the coolant and diff change am i best takin it to honda?
