Default noob question! lol

ok, i do a lot of city driving..avg speed is about 40-45..i usually hit 5th gear RPM 2.5/3 sometimes leave it at 4th..RPM around 3.5/4..

leaving it at 4th and RPM 3.5/4 cruising around, is that a bad thing?

its my first stick car. thanks in advance

The car revs to 8-9K; driving at 3.5-4K for 100 hrs straight wouldn't even scratch this engine. Just don't commute in vtec and you're solid (and realistically, you probably can commute in vtec no problem).

I think 5th is a perfect gear for cruising between 40 - 50.

Me too. 4th, 5th, 6th are all fine. 3rd would be a bit excessive.

Refer to where the redline is. And/or read the other prior RPM threads.

Not a bad thing. Generally, sub 6 k is economy mode, sup 6k is power mode. 3-4k when cruising is fine.
