Is it normal for center piece to get so hot?

when the car is on for awhile, running and stuff, sometimes my center console area / passenger side area where the foot is gets pretty hot.. is this normal ??

Yes, it is normal for the console to get warm to the touch.

I refer to the cup holder in my 2001 as the coffee/beverage warmer.

I never use the cup holder, FYI.

Yup..... it's the same with Ap1 and Ap2... it gets pretty warm.... (and also why my drinks never stay really cold on long trips..

)
