Northeners
Hey everyone, I am thinking about getting an S2k most likely in May. The thing is that it will be my only car. I was curious as to how it will handle and hold up during the winters of central NY. I would definately get snow tires as I have had on every other car I've owned and I am taking a good guess that sandbags in the trunk would come in handy too. What do you guys think? Is this a good or bad idea?
I really would love to have and S2k and the only other car I would be interested in getting is a WRX (which happens to be practical and winters would be no prob) but you know summer is right around the corner and there is nothing more tempting then driving around in a hot flashy convertible during the summer!
I wouldn't plan on holding onto the S2k for longer than 2 years but anyway I slice the winters here suck. If anyone who has experience with this give me some help. Please only answer if you have actually driven your S2k in the snow and know it's characteristics because I don't want people from Florida or etc. pretending like they know what's it like.

Do a search under "xviper" and "snow" and you'll find lots of threads with good advice on driving the S2000 through inclimate winters. Xviper drives year round in Calgary, using snow tires of course, without too many troubles. Don't think you'd need sandbags, there is plenty of weight on the rear axle.
Personally I think you're better off spending $2000 on a winter beater, but that's your prerogative.
