Not exactly new '04
Been lurking for a while and I'm finally picking up an '04 s2k in the next few weeks.
So, I've got an opportunity to buy a "new" '04 s2k that's got around 400 miles on it (they say it's a dealer demo...). Should I be worried about any possible problems if the car was mistreated for those miles? Anything I should check?
Thanks,
- John

you sure about that 29,900 on a brand new 04? ive been looking around for an 04 but i havent been to herb chambers..ive only been to atamian (tewksbury), peters (nashua, nh), and commonwealth..and there were none available..well, not available with the color combo i want...and the lowest the dealer theyd go for me was 32,500
32.5 is crazy for a new one -
as i just picked up my 04 last friday - i bought mine from Boch and i didn't pay anywhere near 32.5
i would have purchaced fro Herb Chambers however i already signed a PSA with Boch
contact octaine-girl in the new england forum.... let's just say that she has connections at HC..

mine had 10 mi. i got my car for about 30.4. just get price quotes from other dealerships and tell them that this particular dealership is giving you a better deal. they will work with you and will beat that price. they wouldnt go lower than 30.4 w/ me.
I wouldn't worry about the 400 miles as long as they are giving you a sweet deal on price.
Think about it, you're going to treat that car a lot worse than anyone else has in those 400 miles. And the car is made to handle it. It's a performance car. Keep up with the maintenance, and it'll be a gem.

i swear, sometimes you guys are way to anal about miles. 400 is no big deal, not ALL dealers mistreat the cars. check it over and if there's nothing leaking, if the clutch engages nicely, and the tires dont show signs of abuse you'll be fine. now, however, once you start negotiating you can use the whole "it has 400 miles on it!" schtick.
good luck.
good luck.
