To or To Not Get an AP1?
AZ college student/2 weeks into owning S. My insurance for a 92 civic was 100. S2000 is 150. Gas mileage sucks. My e85 turbo civic went to the pump less. I do worry about my car while in class whether it's theft or dings. I started parking my car in a neighborhood nearby and walk a 1/2 mile to campus. Oil changes cost more and parts are much harder to find.
Do not get an S2000 until after you graduate.
It's nowhere near as practical as your Civic for getting things to and from school. But more importantly, a college campus is one of the worst places to have a nice car. Door dings everywhere, S2000s are high theft targets, and drunk or jealous students are almost guaranteed to mess with it.
Stick with the Civic, then sell it for an S2000 or something else when you graduate.

All good responses. The only thing I have to add is that if you do go the AP1 route, be sure to have the valve retainers inspected before purchase, as well as reading the "What to look for when purchasing thread" (obviously). S2000's can be easy to misshift (due to the silky gearbox), and an AP1 will not show any symptoms of an overrev, outside of slightly cracked valve retainers.
Just something to keep in mind.
