Default Not sure How Much To Sell For..HELP

I have a 00-AP1 with over 150K on the motor and body, I bought the car off Hondatech after the guy told me that the car had never been wrecked but had theft on it. After purchasing the car for 6500 I find out that the car has been wrecked twice once by the original owner on the front passanger fender then the second time second owner on the driver side. The owners did have the damage fixed from a autobody shop. The stock fenders have been horribly flared using a baseball bat as I was told by the guy I bought the car from. It also has hail damage that was never fixed. Also the transmission is missing 4th gear but i have a used transmission that came with the car and I also bought a OEM clutch for it.

I bought this car under the impression that this would be my project car but in fact this has turned out to be a nightmare.

I owe around 5800 on it as of right now and I am wanting to sell it for that price to just get rid of it.

I am not sure if that is to much to ask for this car given the history of the vehicle.

Any help with this would really be appreciated.
Thanks,

Justin

$5800 sounds "fair" need more info though. Do a compression test.

It sounds like you got taken to the cleaner. I would post some pictures and it would help. With the miles and the issues you will be lucky to get out what you put in. It really depends on what you need to do get the car running well. The physical condition of the car should be the least of your worries unless the fenders are just terrible.

I just wanted to add that a compression test and leakdown test could tell a lot about the overall engine health. I would also be concerned with what degree of Modifications, if any, were on the car. How is the suspension and ball joints? Did you get any maintenance records with the car? How is the interior and top?

Yeah this guy screwed me with out any lube at all. I will have pictures up by this weekend. The only modification is a brand new Mishimoto Radiator and Ap2 Top w/ glass. I replaced the supsension with used ap1 with 32k on them. Ball joints, I have not looked at. I really do not want to dump any more money into this thing. I motor is not showing any signs of leaks just alot of dirt and grime from the owner, but again I will have to do the compression test and leak down. Mainenance records are a joke just like the guy I purchased it from.

Not trying to sound like a dick but what did you expect for 6500 (and off hondatech at that ) 9 is about the lowest I have seen for a mediocre condition.
As long as a majority of car is in decent condition you might be able to get 5800 for it. Sounds like a decent candidate for a widebody and a v8 swap. That or a full out track car.

No I do not care about anyone being a dick etc.. This is why I asked for help and input for what I should ask for the car. I do understand about H-T but again this was a impulse buy due tothe fact that I had recently sold my S2K and was looking for another one to replace it, I do understand that this was my fault from the get go.

If it helps you for a scale of reference...I've personally seen the following:

AP1 with 61k miles, ROUGH body, mismatched aftermarket wheels, and engine out of the car land taken apart pretty far (rusted cylinder walls as well). Turbo'd, but again, turbo condition looked rough. Needed a top, interior looked okay.

He got $5000 for it.
