Default Not under warranty

Last week My check engine light came on. I brought it to the dealers the next day.
They told me the positon on the 4 cyclinder was bent. They told me it was not under warranty because it was due to downshifting and racing. I dont drive my car hard at all. I called American Honda and they told to to take it to another dealship for another opionion. Are there any other suggestions I should do. This is my first new car i ever bought. Its a 2002 black on black with 15000 miles. I took it to Planet Honda in New jersey, bunch of crooks.

keep taking the car to another dealership until someone says that they will fix it. I'm sorry to hear the bad news about your car.

I used to take my car to planet honda to get it fixed.
They used to be pretty good.
Now they don't seem to be that great, maybe new management or something.

Or just the owner getting greedy

I would check Open Road Honda if it's not too far out of your way.

Im not sure if they will do this but I would call American Honda and have them set the appt for you. Tell them you dont want to go to every dealer around you just to find an honest dealer and you would appreciate it if they would set an appt for you....I would think that would get someones attention

There are a whole bunch of #4 failure documented on the board, if you do a simple search you should come up with quite a bit of info.

I believe that they were recalling cars in Europe for problems like this.

Even if you don't drive your car hard you still might have made a mistake for this sort of problem to happen. Sorry for your misfortune.
