Boosted all four tires from 33 psi to 37 psi... I can't believe the reduction in rolling resistence. Now I can even use a higher gear for the same speeds. The car also feels much more responsive in general.

How will this affect handling? Will the rear end break loose easier on wide turns? Anyone?

My observations so far:

Easier to accelerate.
Brakes need to be applied harder to stop.
Somewhat higher tendency for the rear to step out.
I can cruise comfortably at 35 mph in 5th gear now, whereas before I'd have preferred 4th.

Not sure if I'll keep it this way long term, but I'll at least try it out for a tank of gas or two.

I could care less about rolling resistance or fuel milage. I care about handling and grip. I run 29 psi all the way around. I am getting good even wear across the tire. When it rains, I drop the pressures another 1-2 psi.

SNOWBALL,
I put 17" VOLKS on my car and ran 37 psi. at first also. It handled great in the canyons at speeds below 70 mph but at freeway speeds felt really scary, wet weather was a consern also. I dropped it down to 34 psi at first but ended up settling on 29-30 psi .Now speeds in the triple digits even feel good.

when you calculate heat inside the tire, that 37 will soon turn to 40 +/- 1-2 #'s. That is way too dangerous. I also run 30#'s and if you measure after a spirited run through the canyons, it will quickly reach 32-34 #'s. It is way too dangerous....

32-33 PSI(cold) is perfect for oem s02's. with more air in the tires, your car is more prone to snap oversteer and will make the rearend very fidgity.

i also noticed it runs better in some cases but not all, as the rear end becomes very fidgety
