Cut your losses and get a new one. A rebuilt s2k will never be the same. If it were a station wagon it would b different but you don't want something going wrong at a critical moment. It's over, sorry to say...

Get rid of it. By your description of how it happened, I can't believe its not totalled. It will never be the same, so, if the insurance doesn't total it, trade it in.

A Yukon at 40mph should do some pretty major damage. Let me guess.....the SOB was talking on a cell phone?

I wonder if the Yukon was driven by a deer...........Sorry my two biggest fears SUV drivers with cells attached at the ear and deer!

My advise~fix the car and go to another dealer and trade on an 04;you'll be glad you did.

To follow up: I don't know if he was on his cell phone...I never saw him...went straight from the car to the ambulance. The guy who was in front of me said that he overheard the Yukon guy telling the police that he sneezed. It must have been a hell of a sneeze!

But he did have insurance (State Farm) and they are refusing to total it. I am upside down on my lease, but I am going to call State Farm tomorrow and see if they'll pay off my lease contract in exchange for me waiving all medical, pain and suffering, and misc. claims.

I just got a copy of the written estimate. There are over 200 line items of repairs.

This blows...

A sneeze sounds like a BS line he told the cop because if he said he was dialing his cell the cop would get all over his case.

KEEP beating them up about totalling the car out.

Get your insurance company involved and make it clear to YOUR insurance company that you want the car totaled out.

Being upside down will make it VERY difficult for you to out of the car on a trade. It will cost you thousands of dollars because of a "sneeze."

Also talk to a laywer. Your offer to not file suit for pain and suffering will carry much more weight as an offer to DROP a suit for pain and suffering.

good thing you are ok. I would think yukon would just run over s2k if it was going that fast.
just trade it in for 04 or 03. i wouldnt even bother fixing that car.
