my fav part:
"Rumor of the month that I heard while at a Go-Fast lunch. A Go-Fast magazine for ricer cars has this competition called the Ultimate Street Car, or something like that. Last year, they invited some cars non-ricer cars, hoping that the little ricemobiles would be able to beat some of the bigger boys at the Streets of Willow. Unfortunately for them, James whupped some ass with his Ferrari 360 Modena. This year, the magazine was soliciting some more entries for the track event. Mumford sent in his application to get his Viper entered in the event. Apparently the authors of the article were real happy that a 10 cylinder American car was entering the event, so they could try to beat up on that car at Willow Springs. Until they talked to some knowledgeable people in the Go-Fast world told them something like, "You morons, don't you know who Mumford is? If you let him in the event, he's gonna wipe out the entire field with his Viper ACR". Needless to say, Mumford's application probably got thrown in the trash......

Great article. The best part I liked was the challenge he put out to other car racers.
"So now, anyone that thinks that S2000 drivers suck, let's see if you can get a group of similar street cars that can get six cars/drivers under 2:12 at Thunderhill in relatively STOCK cars with race tires. You must use transponders for timing, none of that stopwatch crap. Wasserman and Dearing, OTC participants, were at this event with their Vipers and they ran 2:07 and 2:08, narrowly beating Aaron and Dave in their S2000s. But I don't think they can get four other Viper friends under 2:12. I am sure you Mustang guys can't get six stock Mustangs under 2:12. I know we can't get six stock NSXs under 2:12 at the same event. BMW Club events don't use timing, so they lose by default, among other things."

nsxfiles.com isn't resolving, you have to use the ip address. Bonehead Wayne cancelled all the Verizon voice/fax lines into the shop and replaced it with a T1. Unfortunately, nsxfiles.com was run off a DSL line that was multiplexed with the fax line (which is probably why the speed sucked), so that was killed off. I have the new Qwest DSL line in the shop, but am having problems getting the domain name registered with the new IP, as a friend of a friend originially set the server up back in 1995 or so out of their software company. But the friend left the company, the company went out of business, so I have to go through a paperwork nightmare to get the new ip address assigned.......

p.s. I got a couple of the Viper guys making their case that they have 6 street cars under 2:12 at thunderhill....stay tuned for the next chapter (maybe in a week or so)
