Daily driver here, no complaints.

 

This is my only car. Works just fine as a daily driver.

 

when I lived in the UK I used to have an S for daily driving. You just improvise and make do with what you have. You can still get a pretty large grocery shop into the trunk as well as many other things - youd be surprised. It does have one of the largest trunks for this type of vehicle. Having the S as a daily makes your everyday driving fun - its not always a chore! The only downside is that your car is prone to everyday driving problems such as tar spots, rock chips, door dings etc. you jus thave to accept that with the S as a daily, it will be harder to keep it in pristine condition. Also, make sure you check the oil level regularly and keep up the maintenance. Make sure you are prepared for what each season brings and youll find its easy to have this car as your only car.

That said, now i live in the US, I have my S as an occasional car - I probably only do 4000 miles in it a year now - it is heavily modified and I wouldnt want to use it in the snow or for my daily commute. I get a complete different type of pleasure out of S ownership now - I look forward to getting home from work to take it out for a spin, or for the weekend to come to go on a road trip, or lately (as the car is now in winter storage), im looking forward to spring already!

I use mine as a daily driver. Of course I have a beater for snow days, or any other lousy weather, and we have my wife's car as well.

I wouldn't think of driving the S on a snow day here in NoVA, not with all the nitwits in their SUV's who think they're invulnerable.

 

I used to have a beater (Pontiac Vibe), but now I just rent a large car about once a month for whatever. Comes out about the same as the extra insurance, registration, and maintenance would be.

 

My daily commute driver is my S-10 pickup which is night and day different than driving the 'S'. The pickup does make for a much quieter and smoother ride (bouncy almost) on the local highways here and is better in the snow as well. The 'S' gets the call for commuting to work on friday (weather permitting) and most other trips for that matter. Just trying to preserve my baby to make her last.

 

The S is my only car. If I need to pick up something big, I borrow a car. Many times If I buy something large, I do it on line and it is delivered via UPS or mail.

 

Now that's what I'm talking about. :thumbsup: But doesn't it catch the wind and tries fighting back?

I guess you need to start renting a truck if your gonna bringing extra tires with you.


Anyone here has experience on renting a small truck?
