Here's another wrench (or spanner if you like) in the works. There's 2 kinds of gallons.

I would think the low fuel indicator when there is 33% petrol still remaining is quite odd... Anyone else noticed the same thing?
What the f**k is a liter

Gallons my friend, the only way to measure
No idea what a liter is. Not only do you goddam yanks insist in being backward in your choice of measuring units you can't even spell LITRE !!

S2000's tank holds 50 liters/litres or 13.2 US gallons or 11 Imperial Gallons (which is the real English measure of fluid volume).

When the low fuel light comes on continuously, that means you have about 10 liters/litres left (or about 2.6 US gallons or about 2.2 Imp. gallons).

Is the tank filled to it's capacity if you do not top it off? Does any additional gas you pump just fill the filler tube and splash on the car?

That varies from pump to pump. One way to test is if
you pull the nozzle out after it clicks off so that you can see the filler entrance and press the trigger lightly for a second or two, the fuel should be "foaming" at the filler entrance. At this point, do not keep filling - you'll just be filling the vapor recovery canister in the car.

In any case, I care less about getting the fullest tank possible but more so that I note when the fuel light starts staying on consistently when on flat ground.

You guys are all ate up, just put gas, or petrol in the damn thing and V tech to the next station. I do admit, I drove 282 miles (470km) yesterday, the light came on, and I kept driving, and pretty soon I had no bars left, and no gas stations in site. Kept driving, found a station and it only held 10.8 gallons (40.8L). Now I know and won't be down that low again.---282 non V tech miles, very boring.

It's all litres now. Has been for a long time. Now here's one for ya. Oil is measured in barrels. How many gallons in a barrel and which gallon are they talkin' about?
