I have noticed that when I move off from a standstill with the steering wheel turned I hear a strange sound from the front of the car. When all the way turned (as in doing a three point turn) you can really hear it. Sounds like a tire rubbing on something but i can not see any contact.

Anyone else ever experienced anything like this? Sometimes I can even feel something when it does it.

it does? I also had an 02 and there was no problem. I have the first oil change coming up soon so I will mention it to the Honda guy.
Basically every time I pull away from an intersection when making a turn I see and feel something. Surely this can not be right.

 

I also notice a noise on my MY04 when turning from a stop, but it sounds like a growling noise from the differential.

 

Did you mention it to anyone at Honda?

 

No, I just noticed it a couple of days ago - (I only have 800 miles on my car). I need to go in to have a hardtop installed, I'll have them look at it then.

 

I have noticed this sound on my 04 as well, and I think it might have something to do with the power steering pump.

 

I agree with this, because my truck has the same problem. As soon as I read what was posted, that was my first thought. It seems to be harmless except for the noise.

if its the pump would i feel a vibration? I am taking the car into Honda tomorrow. Will let you know what they say.
