There was some preproduction cars with 10K tachs but this pic looks odd...

cant be a photoshop, unless someone has a whole lot of photoshop skill....that takes some real work to get it to look that clean. Its kinda wierd how from 9-10K it is solid, where as on ours it is hashed red marks.....

actually this could be done in photoshop with little skill.
you can tell that it could possibly be a photoshop image because the tach. kinks between 9~10.
the "10" most likely being created out of the "0" and "1"

If Honda produced it I would assume it would be a smooth curve.

looks like someone took a picture of the dash when you first start up the car and played with it.
If the redline was increased shouldn't the 9 be in the orange zone as well?

I agree this is likely some prototype dash. The buttons and the tach are different from anything we've seen here in the US. The other possibility is this is a non-North-American market car. Note km/h is lit and I don't see Miles/h...

I can't find a picture to compare it to right now, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the dashes used on the ssm concept before the S2000 was produced.

JDM MY04+ Dash:

USDM MY04+ Dash:

Worldwide MY99-MY03 Dash:

And here's another pic of the strange 10k tach (from S2Kguys album):

I think that it's some sort of regulated thing with the US automobile laws. I remember reading somewhere that the US gov regulated the max rpm's on the street cars. I think i also remember the s2000 being at the peak of the US limit. Someone correct me otherwise if they know better.
