Ode to an S2000
by David C. Bratt

I'm an S2000!
I like clear highways and twisty roads.
Don't box me in with your old truck loads!

I'm an S2000!
You better be fast to keep up with me.
(Mini-Coopers: You ain't got the H.P.!)

I'm an S2000!
I need open space to run fast and prowl.
Who needs a stereo? Just hear me growl!

I'm an S2000!
Do NOT park next to me and ding my doors.
I am a beauty, a car to adore!

I'm an S2000!
Take care of me and I'll take care of you
Feeling sad? When you're with me, you won't feel blue!

Foot on the clutch, gear into first,

Let off quickly to hear the 2 liter burst,

Turn to the left, steer to the right, the wind in your hair,

Top down, peddle down and the engines melody in the air.

Berlina Black, or a cool Apex Blue,

Whatever the color, the soul stays true,

Mountains, trees or short stubby brush,

Redline far past maximum, realities such a fuss,

When stepping into an S2000,

You’re truly blessed with a pureblood Lauzon,

Whether your redline is 9000 or not,

Whether your seats are AP1 or 06 stock,

Whether you are supercharged, turbo or V8,

The S2K lives on past 09's grave,

The tire tracks it leaves shall forever stay.

Starter button engaged.

The S2000 drifts away.

Redline fully sustained.

A roadster that can never die,

This is my story,

The S2K and I.

both those poems are pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing. It actually kinda made my day.... Which shows you how a day at my work sucks. Lol.

I wrote this one way back when I was driving a 91 Accord Wagon like a bat out of hell, but it still applies...

CA-Highway 17 Haiku:

"I saw eight Porsches.
All of them driving so slow.
I blew their doors off."
