Ode to the Winter Beater... so sad...
For all of us less fortunate Northeners... this thread is intended to boost our moral till Spring!
For all of you who barely see the rain... have never heard of snow... or simply could care-less and drive either way... this is an ode to the Winter Beater!
Please feel free to add sympathetic comments!
It is Summer,
the grass is green & the roads are clean...
You have the top down, and what do you see...
Another Rustang Challenging me...
Oh the Thrills of an easy victory...
The simple enjoyments loved by thee
Wait, The leaves are changing, whats wrong?
All this rain... better stay in and hit the bong...
(just joeking! ...it just rhymes!)
God, I haven't drove the S in so long...
Go out to the garage, and try to start the beater
only to find Anti-freeze... shooting out the heater!
Now I Have to drive the S, despite the weather!
Back on the road, but I'm starting to shiver
I guess puttin the top down wasn't so clever
Pull up to a red light, and what do I see
...another Rustang... challanging me!!
Oops, didn't mean to leave him so far behind
but I smile as I hear captain Mullet's gears grind
Man that felt good, but up pulls a piece of mind
Damn ZO6 pulls by at the next stop sign
I try my hardest to give chase...
...hmmm, someone else is keeping pace?????
DOH! Officer I swear... I wasn't tryin to race!
I could tell by the look on his face
... he just wished he was in my place!
Oh no... here come the snow flakes...
Better face the facts, before I make a big mistake...
Just a little spin out is all it takes...
...and I may never see another b-day cake...
Go to the dealership, and I trade in the Jimmy
He looks at me, and says "that's pretty funny"
Thank you for your sympathy
I guess I do not need your money
Besides... I'll get a better write off from charity!
Oh how I'll miss street encounters...
with Insurance is now on an Explorer
Kinda hard to race a truck doin' 0-60 in forever
...but yet, I get twice as many challangers...
Where were these guys when I had my S??
maybe a little scared to be put to the test
But now ever so confident, and puffing their chest
...(little do they now, a S/C Explorer is gonna kick their ass next!)
