I forgot to mention, if you go the self storage route, you need a 2nd car, to drive yourself to the storage unit, swap cars, etc... It's a PITA, but that's what I did when I only had a 1 car garage town house.

Trust me, this way is the only way. Park the other car in the parking structure where you live. Hopefully you have another car that's not as eye-catching as the S is.

Ok I agree it would be 100% safe but for now this is my daily driver. I wasn't planning on picking up a hoop-d ride for the winter until late October or early November. So right now my options are limited.

I also forgot to mention prior to the S I had an 08 Si. Lightly modified and to me was waaaay more eye catching than the S (atleast for now and no one ever touched it!

I see. Well, then, use the cover and alarm. Can you place your S in a place where there is video surveillance at the parking facility?

I still urge you to look into picking up a cheap plain-Jane car so you don't have to drive the S everywhere you need to go. Let alone park it in a semi-public spot. Just my $0.02...

Oh, one thing to remember... You really should put on and take off car covers when the car is clean. Otherwise, you'll scratch the paint. If your S is going to be a daily driver, it's going to be dirty and stuff. I doubt you'll want to wash it 3 - 4 times a week to keep it clean, for the sake of using the car cover without it rubbing against the paint with dirt and grit in between...

Just a thought...

The Si is still a Civic and while special, flies under the radar as most people may assume its a plain jane car. The S does not and attracts attention.

Diskoe is right. Keep your car where its secure.

I think covers are a good way to avoid the "attractive nuisance" effect, especially if you have a bright color. A gray blob is going to get less attention than a shiny sports car, especially a Honda since there are some Honda haters out there.

But for a daily driver, they are going to damage the paint because you'll never be able to keep the car clean. So you're kind of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

I will be getting my MY06 S back today from the body shop after it was keyed 2 weeks ago on almost every panel several hours after I bought it. It was in my parking structure, where it turns out several vandalisms and breakins have ocurred. I have the OEM cover that came with the car, and I was wondering if it would be worth it or help to throw it on at night OR if it would just make someone want to mess with it more. I can't even think of what I will do if such a thing happens again. What are your opinions on this? Also does the cover have tie downs or a places to lock it to the car?
If I were a low life scum of the earth redneck/chav/ned/hoodie I'd be tempted to set the cover on fire for laughs.
