^The headlights on Amazon look to be damaged or used.
Apparently, hondaautomotiveparts has lights available.
Most likely just some used photos that ended up in there. You can see the reviews at the bottom for individual purchases. And you can add 4 to your cart which wouldnt make sense for an individual listing.
It would also have to be listed as Used in that case, and it would say that on the page. When you add inventory for "33101-S2A-A11" as a seller it adds to that page automatically. You can't control the previous photos it may have been added to the page.
Any interested buyer can just reach out to that seller if theyre concerned to be sure. Or hit up Majestic if they have em.
I wish that restoring the headlights would be sufficient, and they actually aren't too hazy (likely due to previous owner re-finishing them) but there are some stress cracks deep in the lenses.
I originally ordered from majestic/hondaautomotiveparts, and they cancelled the order due to the headlights being on national backorder. I have since checked back a couple times, and each time they have told me the headlights are still listed on backorder.
I ended up placing an order through all discount parts and the order went through. They haven't cancelled it... yet. I'll probably contact them next week to see if the order can actually be fulfilled.
I was disheartened after coming across this thread, cuz I was planning on buying a set in a few years. I went on hondaautomotiveparts.com and ordered a set to see what would happen.
Order went through and just shipped...unexpected expense but I got me lights.
How were you able to do this?! This is all I see when I go to that website.
Honda's all like, 'don't you like the new bumper we made you? How about these new mats?'
How about you just make sure we have the necessities to order if we need them.... like fuking headlights or control arms. Why does it take a company like MITA to push them to make small orders?
A few months ago my car was in the shop after I messed up my bumper, it took 2 months waiting on a damn bumper from Honda. It NEVER came. I was without a car for a month since my insurance only covered 30 days of a rental. The dude had to work his magic and repair my damaged bumper/CR lip since there was no ETA at all even at that point. It looks great, but still, my point is that a small accident can now take your car off of the road for months. And it's only going to get worse as part number dwindle.
Yeah, I think COVID impacts and supply chain shortages probably accelerared the discontinuation of parts for cars like the S2000.
I ran into a few small shortage issues when I replaced a head gasket last summer. And I ran into a few other shortages for stuff on daily drivers and stuff too, in mid-2021 to now.
I can see them not prioritizing S2000 parts, if their molding facility is backed up and they need to keep up with current car production.
There's shortages on raw materials too. Resins, metals, etc.

Agreed on it having a definite impact, but I've faced these types of backorder, indefinite TBA on so many s2000 parts when trying to refurb my entire interior, way before Covid. Things like door shells, door sill plates, random interior garnishes, headlights, etc were and are near impossible to find new, esp from Honda dealers in America. You need a company like MITA to reach out to produce a small order. Which shouldnt have to be the case.
Shit theres a handful of interior garnish pieces on the MITA website that are specifically on there because I reached out to them to get a hold of and they saw there was a demand. Without MITA we'd be even more screwed.
I was under the impression that Honda has announced to continue to produce spare parts for the S2000 at the 20th anniversary?
I lately orderd some tiny plastic molding parts for the roof area, one was on backorder, but after 3 months wait it arrived.
I wouldn´t have a problem to wait for parts, if i could buy them at the end. Even used parts are meanwhille scarse here in Germany with only 1500 S2000 left. It´s like looking for used Ferrari parts. You need patience and a big wallet.
