Default OEM style vs OSM rear spoiler: Comparison

Fortunate to have come across an OEM Spa Yellow rear spoiler and wanted to document the difference between it and the eBay pre-painted rear spoiler.
Some of the eBay paint matches are better than others. Silverstone is pretty good out of the box. Spa yellow is hard to match and I tried to capture the differences in the photos. Paint also lightens over time with sun exposure.
Left is OEM, right is eBay. The aftermarket spoiler has a deeper yellow. The OEM is some green undertones and is paler.

Slight cosmetic differences. The bottom is OEM, top is aftermarket. The lines are sharper on the aftermarket. The angles are also more pointier.

This also extends to the rear edge.

Easy way to spot differences. DTO is the aftermarket manufacturer. OEM as drains towards each end. I removed the metal bracket from the OEM one as I will be installing it with adhesive.

That is quite a color difference — either a camera angle or paint mix issue.

Sort of goes without saying but really stands out on those last 2 pics, fit with the OE spoiler is much better.

I had my MUGEN rep hardtop sprayed in 3 stage, Spa Yellow. It’s noticeable darker than the 25year old paint but I expected that.
The paint came with the car when I bought it.

It’s a great color and one of the better ones on the s2k. After respirating the hardtop, made me want to do the whole car.

Looks good from 10’ but up close its noticeable

After a solid base coat, I did 3-4 layers of light mid coat, checking the match in between. My experience with eBay/aftermarket body accessories that are pre-painted is that yellow is really hard to match.

Did you go back and add the black trim edge after?

I think I like it better without.

Looking at the title again it is probably a typo that should have read OEM-style vs OEM rear spoiler: Comparison

I used the Honda weatherstrip tape. Creates a better seal and prevents scratches.
