Default Off-center mounting of front license plate

In a recent thread, someone mentioned they had tried mounting the front plate over one of the faux air ducts, AC Cobra-style.

If you have done this or tried it--and especially if you have a photo--please give me more info. Also, have the police ever complained?

Mines under my passenger floor mat. The car looks so much better with it mounted there.

I have seen Japanese plates mounted there a few times in random pictures. I was thinking about it, but I thinks it requires drilling holes in the bumper, something I do not want to do.

I did it a few months ago, but I don't remember if I took any pics. I'll look through some of my old stuff, and see if I can find one. If you need advise on installation, I may be able to help.

The Wyoming law reads that the front plate must be visible from in front of the car. I don't think you'd get a ticket if the plate is visible, even if it is mounted in a funny spot (front grille, in front of air duct, inside front windshield) or cut down, as long as the numbers and sticker are visible.
