Default Oh no... Forced to sell my s2000....

Well like the title says I need to sell my baby... Medical expenses/medicines are eating me alive. I just can't afford to keep the s2000 and keep it up the way it needs to be kept.

I'm spending 233.45 on a car payment, 200.00 on insurance, and a lot in gas. $150 or so. It comes down to about 580.00 +- not including repairs, tires, etc. Both of which have haunted me like wheel hub and bearing, tires need replacing in the near future. I just can't do it. Well I technically can afford it but it is causing an immense amount of stress and it's hindering me from really advancing on paying the credit card off and such.

My uncle is offering to sell his 2000 5 speed toyota celica to me for 3000 (I will ask him for 2800). I will save at least 280 - 300 bucks a month doing this. The car is neat i guess. At least it gets like 32 mpg and is a 5 speed. I can put stuff in it...

Please give me some suggestions. I will surely miss my s2000. It's beautiful, fun to drive, sexy... ugh.... But i'm thinking the comfort of saving money will be enough to counter the effects of such driving ecstasy in an s2000.

If having a high monthly payment is stressing you out. Then you should do what's best financially. Work on how much you still owe on the car and how much you can sell it for, the insurance cost of the celica and gas, then make the decision.

Sorry to hear you have to give up the S and your medical troubles.

When it comes to sports cars, 90% of the time, the answer is "Miata". If you can get over the stigma, it's about as much fun to drive (arguably more). Lacking in power - but the price is right.

So you know if you do sell it,..sell it for cheap but under the pretense the new owner pays the rest of the payments, otherwise youll still have to pay off the car

P.s. Some states don't allow the allow the practice of selling a car to someone else even if they make the payments..the bank made the loan with you,.so they want the money paid back by you it sux

The celica is deffinatly cheaper and coming form someone who is financially stable and not trying to give me their junk. My uncle is just wanting a Z4. I think he is asking a reasonable price.

The s2000 was so worth the money before i was hit by these medical related expenses, some will last for life (of course after this degree and my salary increase they will be trivial).

I am trying to avoid making a super mistake and losing my dream car if i really don't have to. Once this deal is done I will be in a situation where a nice car will be best to purchase in a couple years after this degree is finished.

I did have a miata before! I really liked it. Unfortunatly I have one shot to make this work and I'm thinking I should stick with the Celica since I know it's history. My uncle bought it brand new. Maybe a sports car is something for me down the road.

As for the bank issue, I'm just gonna drop the cash to cover the difference. It won't be very much.

I don't know if my bank I go through would let me do the payments transfer (like you were saying)

I sold my 2002 Celica to buy my S2000. It's a good car. It's a pretty fun car to drive, but nothing compared to an S. If it makes financial sense, do it. You can always buy another S2000 afterwards. Pay off those credit card/medical bills ASAP and jump back into an S.

im thinking the only way to keep it is to get another job thats pays more. or get another job (dont know your situation).

if i was in your situation i would sell it and save up and by one with cash when the time is right.
