OHHHH!..........I love that feeling
I love that feeling when your are seperated from the S for a considerbly amount of time such as a vacation and then you come home, go into the garage, slowly uncover the S and get that same rush when you first purchased the car. You again see why you sold the old car ( in my case the 3 series BMW) and not follow thru the other chooses (in my case the 350Z or C5). Enough talking, I'm going to go get reaquainted with the S.
I've been separated from mine since December 15 -- a bad slide on a twisty road put me right into a ditch.
Once the suspension is fixed I take it to the body shop for a touch-up, and then we get reacquainted!
The only saving grace is our winter weather. If she were here, she'd be sleeping under a car cover. Now, if I lived in the Sun Belt... I'd really be going crazy!

It is kind of like the saying.....
You never really miss all the action when your getting it all the time...( two to five+ X a day )
But when she is gone your really miss it!
I hate the winter.... I am moving back down south......

its been a long time (too damn long) since i've driven the s2000. this winter has been hellacious, and since i have my sister's 2002 a4 as my temporary winter beater, my car stays warm inside my garage, but she's very lonely.
today i received a new bracket for the comptech sc and so i pulled the cover off my baby and popped the hood. how beautiful she looked as her crystal clear eyes and yellow skin sparkled under the light! the lines from the middle of the hood to each fender was absolutely hypnotic, her lines are stunning.. so low, so mean, she looked like a elk ready to pounce. i then proceeded to remove each te-37, rub some tire brite on the tires (inside and out), then i decided to wax the wheel as well. some say say that the te's are "played out" on the s2000, but goddamnit, theyre absolutely gorgeous, and theyre so light! i noted some uneven wear, and scheduled some time for a set of new tires and an alignment for later this month.
while the wheels were off, i decided to swap her vital fluids. what was to be a simple oil change turned into a day long session. i first drained her of the old amsoil, and filled her back up with some fresh 10w30 by mobil1. i have a bunch of redline mtl and water wetter in the garage, so guess what i did next
i had dripped a little tranny fluid on my garage floor, which mixed in with the sand and dried leaves from the fall, so i rolled her out, took out the hose and some griots garage surface cleaner and i started to wash down the garage floor. unfortunately i didnt roll my baby out far enough and she received a small shower as well. the temperature outside never broke 40F and there i was with sponge in hand washing my car! after the quickest wash ever, i pulled her back in. i dried her completely, trunk seals, door jams, gas cover, and under the hood.. she was totally dry. as i was drying under the hood, i noted some dust and dirt build up, so i broke out the toothbrush and some simple green/water and went to work under the hood.
i started her up, let her idle for a few minutes to let the underhood components dry, then after applying a thin coat of 3m's IHG, i put the cover back on and put her back to bed.
now for those of you who think that im nuts and wonder why i dont drive her around, theres a small reason as to why i dont drive my car right now, and it's written in HUGE letters on my hood. damn psychotic ex-gf's.. keep em away from your car!
until we meet again,
brian
