Default Oil Level

So, my car's been a dream in terms of oil consumption. 2700 Miles and it finally has seemingly lost a little, on a warm engine, it's halfway up the flat part of the stick.

What i'm wondering is, how much oil does the flat part of the stick represent generally?
I'm just looking for a ballpark guess as to how much oil i'll have to put in.

It's one quart from L to H on the dipstick. If the level is below L, you'd better put in more oil ASAP.

Spider is correct.....one Imperial Quart (not US) from "L" to "H" on the stickometer.
