How long does it take to put it on? Does it require permanent modifications or the addition of extra mounting equipment? How much does it weigh? Is it easy to remove?

The factory hardtop is aluminum and weighs about 40 lbs. From what I've heard, MY2000 cars have to be fitted with some extra equipment for mounting the hardtop but MY2001 cars already have this included. Maybe somebody with a 2001 S2K can verify this???

My local dealer said the hardtop would be available after the first of the year

Local dealer (and we all know how reliable they are) said hardtops will be sold as an option with MY2002's.

Picked up my '01 last week, I didn't notice anything that seemed needed for the installation of the hardtop. . . Though, I hope I don't have to wait until '02 to get one. . .

By the way, I find it rather annoying that Honda has made the hardtop available in almost every other part of the world except North America. . . Does anyone know why?

With a 40 lb. hard top, it figures that your occupants weight now should be 360 lbs. or less. Do you agree?

Hi Giampiero,

Any news on the expected arrival of my white hardtop? Also, will the package contain the full installation instructions and the rear window heater switch block (which were missing from the first shipments)?. Thanks.

my local dealer said they just had a meeting about it and they are going to be taking orders soon, but they won't get any in until January.
